Conclusion and Verdict
I will be honest, a mouse pad is usually last on the list when I am thinking about a new setup. But when I make it to that accessory, I have a few must haves. On of those is you must take into account is the surface material. I prefer cloth over a hard surface and that is basically because it can be a lot quieter. I don’t think either offers any performance over the other. It is basically going to be your preference. Another thing is cleanability. One downside to cloth is that it will get dirty and it is important that it is easy to maintain. Lastly, RGB isn’t a deal breaker but I do prefer to have it as an option. So with the AMM700 we have a cloth material, somewhat easy to clean (I wouldn’t fully submerge the pad), and yes it does have RGB.
The RGB is sandwiched in between the surface and base. The light strip is very thin and almost unnoticeable without the lights on. When the lights are on you can easily see them but they are not as bright as some of the other mouse pads I have had in the past. With that being said they still provide plenty of RGB goodness.
