According to my Windows 10 Wifi status, the Edimax AC600 Mini USB adapter is giving me a speed of 433.5 Mbps!
Further tests on Windows Task Manger shows the connection type and data throughput rate of 69.8 Mbps for UPLOAD!
For download speed I got a data throughput rate of 19 Mbps. I’m guessing my wireless router has a big part in this.
Speedtest.net confirms the above speeds and throughput data rate. Time upgrade my wireless router.
Verdict and Conclusion
Installation was surprisingly easy! I didn’t even use the CD for drivers, which was provided with the package. Windows 10 automatically recognized it and auto updated its system properties as show above. The numbers are no where near what the advertised 433Mbps, but remember that’s “theoretical” speeds. Real-life speeds are usually much lower. The final speeds you will get, depends heavily on the type of router you use, and the speed of the internet connection from your ISP.
These speeds which we obtained in our tests, are enough for me to do most things I need … such as watching YouTube, uploading to Facebook Live stream and even BT’ing a few files 😉
