The Box and Packaging
At first glance, the box and packaging that comes with the iCirround AirMedia, certainly is impressive. Lots of neoprene padding and extremely well packed. There’s two separate units … the AirMedia unit, which acts as a receiver and a MediaPad, which you mount your iPhone 4 into it.
A Closer Look
Although the actual AirMedia unit looks large, it surprisingly light-weight. The front of the unit is very simplistic with only a power button located on the left hand side. At the rear, you’ll find a HDMI port (which supports HMDI 1.4), left and right audio coaxial output as well as an optical/digital out.
The next bunch of photos, is where ALL the action takes place. It’s the MediaPad. This unit is basically a housing/casing for the iPhone 4, which when switched on allows it to connect to the AirMedia unit … and thus output the media content to the big screen TV or hifi system. It has a jack for charing and a power on/off button. The MediaPad is quite a clunky device and needs charging before use.
The iPhone fits snuggly into the MediaPad with no problems at all. You’ll need to pull the connector out at one end, and then slide the iPhone in, you then need push the connector back in to the iphone to lock it down. I have to say, the overall build quality is very good for both the AirMedia and MediaPad units. My only gripe is the size of the MediaPad.
