A closer Look
The packaging of the Kaze Chrono is well done, a cardboard box with all the necessary information and a picture of the product. Nothing really special but there is no need for that too.
Then when you open the box, the fan controller and all the included cables are protected in some kind of foam box, to protect it again fall damage.
Then we have 3 types of cables you can connect to the Kaze chrono fan controller: The power cable to power the controller obviously then 4 fan cables to connect your fans to the controller and at last we have some temperature sensors, you can place around in your system to get the temperature on that place in your chassis.
Then we come to the controller itself, it has a huge LCD display what is very nice, so you don’t need to wear glasses to read the temps or to see the rotation speed of your fans. The cool think is you can monitor and set fan speeds for each fan individually, by just pressing the ‘speed’ button until you have the fan you want to change, then you just need to press ‘plus’ or ‘minus’ so it is really simple to change or edit fan speeds.
If you want to see the temperature you just press ‘temp’ and same thing like speeds, just click again to cycle through the temperature sensors.
At last you have a clock you can set to see the time (obviously)
There is one thing that really annoyed me, the fan controller is really small, it needs 5.25″ drive bay to install but its not long at all. When I installed it into my Corsair Graphite 600T, which has a tool-less 5.25″ bay design, i had some problems to secure it. Normally you just have to slide it in and it clicks in place. But because its really short I had to screw it in, what was difficult in cases optimized for tool-less installation.
