Setup and Configuration
To setup the router, you’ll need to go to admin page to configure your settings. The menu is simple and easy to understand. I was able to setup the router within minutes.
There are tons of options when you go deeper into the menu. There are settings for VPN, storage configuration, traffic analyzer, Smart and Adaptive QoS, as well MU-MIMO configurations.
To be honest, this router is an overkill for the home user, but the business user who wants VPN, NAS, MU-MIMO, failover and options for routing, the Asus BRT-828 AC2600 is a great investment.
Speed Tests
The Asus BRT-828 AC2600 was pitted against it’s little brother, the award winning Asus RT-AC68U AC1900 and our other router, the Linksys WRT 1200 AC. You can see the results for yourself. Using my 1 Gigbit fiber connection from HKBN, the Asus BRT-828 AC2600 slightly edges ahead with its amazingly low ping times, and raw download speed of 899.95Mbps.

The wireless speeds for 5GHz and 2.4GHz connections on th Asus BRT-828 AC2600 were slightly lower than the rest, but still acceptable.
