Verdict and Conclusion

Currently, 27″ monitors that offer a resolution of 2560×1440 (QHD) seem to the preferred choice for most gamers. And I can understand why. It’s the sweet spot between screen size and screen resolution. Take for example a 24″ monitor, it’s great at 1080p resolution, but go up a peg to 1440p, then the screen becomes a little too small. While a large 32″ monitor may offer plenty of screen real estate, and maybe ideal for 4K gaming, it’s still out of reach for a lot of gamers in terms of price.

With that said, the ASRock PG27QFT2A 27″ gaming monitor not only offers decent specs for gamers, but also some unique features such as the integrated WiFi antenna, and the Phantom Gaming cable sleeve.

As far specs goes … you get 27″ IPS panel with a maximum resolution of 2560×1440 (QHD), a low response time of 1ms (MPRT), and a max refresh rate of 180Hz. It also comes with Flicker Free and Low Blue Light Technology, as well as supporting AMD FreeSync and VESA DisplayHDR 400.

The monitor comes with 1 x DisplayPort 1.4 ports, 2 x HDMI 2.0 ports, 2 x 2W speakers and a 3.5mm output jack. If you want to run the monitor at the full 180Hz refresh rate, we highly recommend you use some high quality DisplayPort cables that can support v1.4 for higher.

All-in-all, I’m pleasantly surprised with the overall visual quality, and gaming experience I got from the ASRock PG27QFT2A 27″ gaming monitor. Images were sharp, and the colors were vibrant, and I love the fact that it’s AMD FreeSync ready, plus you get a super fast refresh rate of 180Hz and 1ms response time.

We’re still waiting to get the official MSRP on the ASRock PG27QFT2A. But in the meantime, you can buy the non-WiFi version – ASRock PG27QFT1B Gaming Monitor for around USD $175-200 from Amazon – https://amzn.to/3zWrT6.

Final Words

If you’re after a decent 27″ gaming monitor with an IPS panel, 1440p resolution, a super fast 180Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time … then look no further, the ASRock PG27QFT2A has it all. But wait, I’m not done. You also get an integrated WiFi antenna and a unique Phantom Gaming cable sleeve too!
