EVGA NU Audio Card Review

Software

The NU Audio software is easy to download and install; the latest version of which can be found here. The software UI is very self-explanatory and user-friendly. The software seems simplistic in nature, however let me assure you that the major functions are present and EVGA is constantly listening to the community and releasing new updates to the software.

Audio files for testing the card are also available and can be downloaded here: https://cdn.evga.com/nu-audio/download.aspx

That brings this review to a wrap! Let’s go over some final thoughts in our conclusion.

Verdict and Conclusion

The NU Audio card from EVGA is a much-needed leap in the audio space. This card managed to pull out performance from my THX setup that I had no idea was there, even using an external DAC. Everything from the aesthetics, to the function and to the software is executed in a way that is extremely satisfying and the future of PC audio is promising once again.

Gaming is extremely atmospheric like never before, with the NU Audio sound card delivering realism at a level that makes the real-world jealous.

Regarding headphones (the magnetic planar type), such as our Monolith M560, are not easy to power; however the NU Audio sound card really brought them to life with extra bass, clarity and provided a greater sound stage as well.

The only hit to this card, I feel, is the lack of a backplate. Otherwise, the NU Audio card is a grand slam for EVGA.

You can buy the EVGA NU Audio Card for around USD $199 from Amazon – https://amzn.to/2MGCPMG

Pros:

  • Outstanding performance, especially with headphones
  • High-End sound at a reasonable price!
  • Independent Microphone volume control
  • No feedback issues whatsoever
  • Epic Headphone performance
  • Frequent software updates and superb device support

Cons:

  • No backplate to match the styling

Final Thoughts:

EVGA has turned the definition of audiophile upside down by raising the bar and allowing us to hear exactly what creators have intended for us to hear. PC audio is once again exciting and we look forward to the future of audio with EVGA.
