Conclusion and Verdict
In conclusion, The PbP feature is one the highlights of this monitor. I had a computer hooked into the display port and a Miracast device hooked up into the HDMI port. I tried two HDMI devices and couldn’t get the PbP to work. It has to with a display input and a HDMI input. This feature is truly a multitaskers dream. I could think of endless possibilities of where being able to do this would not only save time but offer a seamless experience with two different devices. Not only is this a true working persons monitor it can safely serve as a gaming monitor as well. I wouldn’t be entering any competitions with this monitor because there are a few limitations. The refresh rate and response won’t win any awards but the monitor does have a standard set of specifications that could casually serve your gaming needs. The color reproduction was also an area worth mentioning. The colors a accurate as you can see in the testing results. The many options in the smart Image will allow you to find the exact setting that want, for whatever task you my doing.
There are no speakers on this monitor. And if we are being totally honest most speakers on a monitor are just there in case you need them. I really don’t recommend using onboard audio if you can avoid it. I have had one monitor that had speaker that honestly surprised me but still missed the full sound from external speakers. I still would have liked to see them on the monitor but in no way am I disappointed. I still find myself needing to use monitor speakers time to time. Do I enjoy them? No, but it’s nice knowing they are there if I it was the only thing available at the time.
So the 288E2E monitor is top of the line multitaskers monitor but the big question you have been waiting for, can you game on it? Before I answer that question lets cover a few things. 60Hz refresh rate. While this perfectly fine at 4K. We might see that number to rise to 120 on the next generation of cards but for now that spec is perfectly fine. Brightness, I personally like to see up to at least 400 cd/m but 374 will be ok. 4ms response. This is weak if you are wanting this as a gaming monitor. Many monitors are coming out at 1ms, even on VA Panels. You could still use this as a gaming monitor with that response but if you are looking for an edge you won’t be getting that from this monitor. So yes, you can game and have an extremely enjoyable time but if your sole purpose is a gaming monitor this one might not be the one. And another thing you could be gaming off your computer and on the split screen you could be gaming off your phone. Sounds challenging but could be fun.
