Conclusion and Verdict
In conclusion, the star of the show was definitely the light show. But the monitor performed very well in all the tests. The 32″ size is minimum for something I would want for a console but perfect for a gaming monitor. The low response 1ms and a 144Hz refresh rate made gaming on this monitor a great experience. The color coverage was well over the 100% expected and the brightness and contrast allowed for bright scenes with deep blacks. This monitor is also HDR 400 certified. The colors absolutely pop on this thing. Pictures don’t do a good job capturing that.
There are speakers and honestly, they were not terrible. I was intrigued by the 5 W x 2, DTS Sound specification. You even get built in equalizer profiles in the sub menu. Not a bad addition for a monitor. Most of them either skip on audio or have such terrible performance, why even bother. These speakers will get you by if you don’t already have a sound system already.
Now for one of the coolest parts of the monitor, Ambiglow. I briefly hinted on this in the intro. And by now you have seen the video. How cool is that? Necessary, by any means no, but it is so freaking cool I want it on all my screens now. It added another level of immersion I wasn’t expecting. It even made watching stuff even more immersive.
