Today, we’ll take a quick hands-on look at the Sony Alpha α6300 Mirrorless Camera. Now, I have to admit, I am NOT a photography enthusiast, nor am I an expert in camera technology. So if you are one these people, then you’ll probably need to look away, as this review is not for you. I’m going to give my take (from a complete novice’s point of view) on the Sony α6300.
Ok, here’s a quick background why I need a good digital camera … things like product shots, events, 4K videos (with a mic-in) and macro shots. Over the past 18 months, I’ve been using my iPhone to take the occasion photos and even record some video footage with it. In fact, to tell you the truth, most of the unboxing videos and product shots you see here were shot and recorded using the iPhone.
So when it was time to take the big plunge into digital photography (with a proper camera that can do 4K filming)… I was pretty lost. But thanks to advice given by my friend Wing Lui and Bob Buskirk … I decided to get a mirrorless camera – the Sony Alpha α6300.
Some of you might think that the Sony α6300 is way to advance for a novice like me, but I think I made a good choice based on the fact that I want to future-proof myself as much as possible, and to use this camera for at least 2-3 years.

I know there are tons of camera options to choose from, including DSLRs and compact and other mirrorless. However, I didn’t really want to get a bulky DSLR camera, which I think is way too heavy to carry around, especially during events and video filming. So realistically speaking, a feature-rich compact mirrorless camera is the only viable alternative.
Looking at the specifications found on Sony’s website, the Sony α6300 comes packed with some great features … much more than I’ll ever need, and more than most of the competition out there. Just look at the overview and specifications on our next page.
