TUNAI Firefly Bluetooth Music Receiver Review

Installation of the Firefly

Installation is extremely easy and straightforward. Today we will be using my iPhone 6s and stock vehicle non-Bluetooth stereo to test the TUNAI Firefly. To begin installation we will remove the TUNAI from its storage case and simply insert the device into both the headphone jack of our vehicle stereo as well as the USB port for power nearby. Notice the LED has lit up telling us that the Firefly is ready to go!

Using my iPhone 6s I then navigate to the Bluetooth portion of the settings and viola, the Firefly is ready to be connected! Installation does not get much easier than that!

I will note here that the Firefly can remember up to eight devices. Easiest. Installation. Ever!

Performance of the Firefly

Operating the TUNAI Firefly is simply a breeze. The Bluetooth connection was stable the entire time and no audio distortion was heard at all. I can verify that TUNAI did indeed use high quality cabling materials as the sound quality totally annihilated my janky 3.5mm audio cable that I have been using for years. Not anymore though as I will be leaving the Firefly in my vehicle until it or my vehicle gives up the ghost! The advertised range of 33 feet was also verified and in fact including and through two walls into my house! I also sent and received a phone call whilst playing music and I am happy to report that the audio quality was still superb and the switch was flawless. The only downside here is that there is no onboard mic, so the call will not be transmitted via Bluetooth. This is outlined by TUNAI in the features and diagram, however.

With the help from high quality audio format, the patent pending “Sound Revitalization Technology”, TUNAI Firefly was able to minimize the distortion and preserve the most authentic sound quality. Firefly support AAC and MP3 low loss compression format to minimize the distortion during compression for air transmission. The patent pending “Sound Revitalization Technology” scans the received audio and rebuild the distorted signals.

And as with all reviews they must come to an end almost as soon as they began. Let us move on to the conclusion of this review.
