Towards the end of COVID lockdowns in 2021, we were fortunate to get hold of the Unblocktech Ubox 8 Pro Max in (full review here). It definitely helped many families (myself included) to pass the time, and interact more with one another, especially when it’s movie time 😀

After 2 years of usage, I’ve noticed that the UBox 8 started to become slow, and it would to work intermittently. It’s now 2023 and time for an upgrade! And thanks to Unblocktech, they were kind enough to send me their latest version of the UBOX … the UBOX 10 Pro MAX. Thank you.

Now let’s take a closer look …

The TV box now features a new and faster H618 Quad core ARM Cortex-A53 CPU plus a dedicated Mali-G31 6-core GPU, as well as 4GB DDR3 ram and 64GB flash ram.

We’ll be connecting this unit to our 55″ LED 4K TV to check out all the channels that it has to offer, and to see what’s it like for streaming content at 1080p Full HD via wifi.

The UBOX 10

The unit is compact and small, weighing in at around 1 pound and measures 11cm on all sides and just 2cm thick. The UBOX series of TV boxes are currently only available in white.

For connectivity, there are 2 x USB ports, 1 x SD Card slot, 1 x 100MB LAN, HDMI output and a AV jack. Other accessories include, a HDMI cable, the 5v power adaptor and the remote control.

Connected and Powered Up

The remote control uses 2xAAA batteries are not included. Setting up the UBOX 10 Pro MAX is extremely easy. Just plug in the power cable, LAN cable and connect the HDMI cable to the TV and that’s it!

When you first power up the TV box, a blue LED lighting strip that run along bottom of the unit lights up … it looks pretty cool.

Menu System

You can choose the language of your choice during the setup. We chose English. The next thing to do is to connect the UBOX 10 Pro Max to the internet via Wifi or LAN. There are other settings which you may need to change/adjust such as the display settings for TV screen calibration, network and internet settings, as well as BT and device preferences.

System settings, wall paper, and other options can be accessed from the main menu. Since the UBOX 10 Pro MAX is based on Android OS, you can install other Apps such as, Netflix, YouTube, and other Android-based games and various media players. There are also popular media players from Asia to chose from too.

To access all the movies,  just select “UPMOVIE“. There are over 14,230+ movies to chose from! For Live TV, select ‘UPLIVE‘ or “LIVE TV” to access over 2,000+ live TV channels. The ‘Secret cinema‘ (adult channel) can be accessed via a 4 digit pin……. go here for more details.

TV Channels

There are popular and variety of TV shows, movies, children’s animation, adults, and documentaries, a small TV box can meet the viewing needs of the whole family.

You’re also able to watch 2000+ Free live TV channels worldwide. Such as ESPN, ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, CNN and lots of smooth and clear local city TV channels.

Just select LIVE TV or UPLIVE and you’ll find that there are a ton of TV channels (including LIVE sports) available from UK, US, Canada, South East Asia, including TV channels from Hong Kong, Taiwan, most of China, Japan, Singapore and many more. We also have tons of programs and movies …

Verdict and Conclusion

The UBOX 10 Pro Max TV box (2023) is a marked improvement over my older Ubox 8, which I bought  2 years ago. It now contains a super-fast H618 Quad core ARM Cortex-A53 CPU, plus a dedicated Mali-G31 6-core GPU, along with a 4GB DDR3 ram and 64GB flash ram, which is more than enough.

I have to say it’s definitely my best purchase of this year so far!  I can watch well over 2,000+ LIVE TV channels (including LIVE sports) from countries such as the UK, US and most Asian countries like Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan and Macau.
