Verdict & Conclusion
First off I need to explain why I chose an internal capture card over the large variety of external solutions out on the market. I seriously did not want another lump of equipment on my desktop, and I’m one of those people that looks at my space PCI-E slots and want to fill them up. The AVerMedia Live Game HD Lite allows me to tick both these boxes, and does so in a very discreet manner. I do lose out on the capability of just unplugging an external USB capture card and hooking it up on another PC, but I’m just not going to let Winston borrow this little gem.
Priced at around HKD$980, the AVerMedia Live Gamer HD Lite fits in well with the number of capture card solutions on the market, both internal and external. The benefits of going with an established brand is the support you will get especially in terms of the software provided that is both easy to use and packed with features.
The AVerMedia Live Gamer HD Lite is a great little capture card, and will appeal not only to those that are more professional in the way of video production, but also to complete beginners like myself. Every time I start up RecCentral I’m pleased with how easy it is to use and extra little features I find. Previously I have not looked into live streaming, but with the easy I get with the Live Gamer HD Lite, I will definitely look into it!
The only downside is that the PCI back plate is not interchangeable. Even though the card is small and discreet, the back plate is silver and doesn’t match my black PC case…….
