Corsair 2500X Mid-Tower Dual Chamber Chassis Review

Exterior

The  whole chassis measures 376 (H) x 469 (L) x 304 (W) mm, which is looks fairly compact for a “micro” mid-tower chassis. It’s defintely shorter than a lot of chassis I’ve seen, but it’s quite wide at 304mm. The panels are easy to remove allowing quick access to your components.

The top and right side panels feature a fully mesh design which allows for excellent airflow.

The front I/O ports include 1 x USB 3.2 Gen2 (Type-C), 2 x USB 3.0, Mic-in/Line-out, power-on button and a reset switch.

 

Interior

There’s enough room inside the chassis to mount a 240mm radiator on the front side, and a large 360mm radiator on the top or the bottom of the chassis. Plus you can install up to 9x 120mm or 6x 140mm fans for additional cooling.

The maximum length for GPU installation is 400mm. We we able to mount a Radeon RX 7900 XT graphics card (which takes up 2.5 PCIE slot space) with no issues at all. We even tried a GeForce RTX 4080 (3 slot card) for good measure, and it fitted just about OK.

You can fit a PSU with a maximum size of up to 225mm. Most PSUs are not that big with average size of around 150mm, so you should be OK.

The Corsair 2500X is one of the few cases that are ready-made for MSI Project Zero and Asus BTF motherboards. These new types of motherboards feature connectors for power, USB, fan headers, etc on the reverse/back side, making the whole system look nice and clean with no “visible” cables in the front.

Remember, the Corsair 2500X is only suitable for Mini-ITX or Micro-ATX motherboards, so you won’t be able to install a standard/full-size ATX motherboard.

 

Closer Look

For storage, you can install up to 2 x 2.5″ SSDs on the front panel and an additional 2  x 3.5″ HDDs at the back of the chassis.

Other nice touches includes a removeable dust guard at the bottom, white I/O cables, and the option to install a vertical GPU mount/bracket.

During the PC build, we recommend you remove the tempered glass side panel completely. The last thing you want is to have your tempered glass cracked or scratched during installation.
