Corsair FRAME 4000D RS ARGB Modular Mid-Tower Case Review

Conclusion and Verdict

I’m not sure if you’ve noticed lately, but prices have been going up, thanks to tariffs, inflation, import duties and our current political climate. This has not only affected the cost of living, but of course the price of PCs, DIY components and accessories. Nowadays, if you want a decent gaming PC, it will probably set you back at least USD $1,000 or more. With that said, hardware manufacturers are are trying to tackle this problem by releasing affordable DIY PC components.

Now, let’s give our verdict on the Corsair the FRAME 4000D, which is an affordable modular case that measures 486mm (H) x 490mm (L) x 239mm (W) in dimensions, and is large enough to support all the latest ATX motherboards, including reverse connector motherboards from Asus, Gigabyte and MSI.

The model we reviewed was the FRAME 4000D RS ARGB vesrion which comes with 3 x RS120 ARGB cooling fans included. These fans an be daisy-chained so no controller is needed.

The case features a fully-modular design that can support dual 360mm radiators, and a full size graphic cards of up to 430mm in length. It comes with Corsair’s InfiniRail fan mounting system which allows you to easily slide the rail to mount the fans exactly where you need them for targeted airflow.

During our PC build we used an ASRock X870 Steel Legend WiFi motherboard, as well as a Corsair Nautilus 360 RS ARGB AIO for cooling. Everything fitted nice with no issues at all. However, after mounting a 360mm radiator it leaves very little room at the top.

We also installed an ASRock Radeon RX 7900 XT graphics card (330mm in length), and again we didn’t encounter any issue and the card fitted nicely with plenty of room to spare.

Although our PC build turned out quite good, the whole installation process was a little precarious. The side glass panel can easily slip if you don’t positioned it correctly, and same with the right side panel. And here’s another thing you need to be aware of. After mounting the 360mm radiator on the top panel, there’s very little space between the motherboard and the radiator, so you might some difficulty plugging in the CPU fan and ARGB cables on to the motherboard.

Other nice features include a cable shroud to keep unused cables out of sight for a clean and organized interior. There’s also a load of velcro straps within the case for cable management, plus you get a GPU stabilization arm to help prevent your graphics card from sagging. For additonal storage, you can also mount up to 2 x 3.5″ and 2 x 2.5″ for HDD/SSD.

You can buy the Corsair FRAME 4000D RS ARGB Modular Mid-Tower Chassis for around USD $109.99 (with Fans) / USD $94.99 (No fans) from Amazon – https://amzn.to/41675ok

Final Thoughts

The Corsair FRAME 4000D chassis is a good choice if you’re after an affordable mid-tower chassis that’s modular, with the ability to support dual 360mm radiators and graphic cards up to 430mm in length. The unique Infinirail fan mounting system allows you to configure the cooling fans exactly how you want it for targeted airflow. If you get the ARGB version, then it will include 3 x RS120 ARGB fans … for the price, it’s definitely well worth it.
