Corsair iCUE LINK 3500X RGB Mid-Tower Case Review

Today, we’ll be taking a look at the Corsair iCUE LINK 3500X RGB PC case – White Edition. It’s compatible with ASUS BTF and MSI Project Zero reverse connection motherboards, for that very unique and extremely clean aesthetics, keeping your connections and cables out of sight.

The case features a stunning wraparound glass view with removable front and side panels, and comes with three pre-installed iCUE LINK RX120 RGB fans with control Hub.

The 3500X measures 506 x 460 x 240mm in dimensions, and can accommodate most large graphics cards up to 410mm in length, plus you can install up to 2 x 360mm radiators on the side and top of the case, and there’s room for up to 10 x 120mm fans.

The front and side tempered glass panels are easily removable for quick access, while the spacious interior has a 38mm clearance behind the motherboard, to route your cable with ease.

Storage options include a removable drive plate that can accommodates up to 2x HDDs and 2x SSDs simultaneously. The front I/O includes a reset button, an audio/microphone jack, 1 x USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C Port, 2 x USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A ports, and the main power button.

With an Asus BTF or MSI Project Zero motherboard, connecting all the cables is super easy, especially when the case has panels cut-out ready for the revere connectors.

I would like to send a big thank you to Corsair for the review sample! Here is a snippet of what they have to say about themselves on their website:

Corsair hardware is regularly featured in showcase “dream systems,” and we have earned the adulation and respect of the press, professional gamers and overclockers, high-end system integrators, and PC enthusiasts worldwide by delivering leading-edge technology backed by renowned service and support.

Corsair has developed a global operations infrastructure with extensive marketing and distribution channel relationships, and our products are available through leading distributors and retailers in over sixty countries worldwide.

Corsair is listed as one of the manufacturers that support the Asus BTF and MSI Project Zero (reverse-connection) motherboards. The main question everyone is asking …. are motherboard and case manufacturers going to focus solely on this new format? Well, it’s highly unlikely, since a majority of users still prefer the trusted-old ATX format. And having to switch over to BTF or Project Zero, would mean a complete new upgrade in computer case and motherboard, which to be honest isn’t worth really it.

Having said that, there are some affluent enthusiasts who may want a clean looking PC with great aesthetics (plus no visible cables), then this could be answer they’ve been looking for. I must admit, BTF and Project Zero systems do look great 😀

We’ll be installing the MSI Z790 Project Zero motherboard, along with an Intel Core i9-13900K, and 32GB of Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5-7200 ram. We’ll also be using a Corsair RM1000x Shift PSU, Corsair iCUE H150i Elite LCD XT AIO cooler, Lexar NM800 2TB PCIE Gen4 SSD, and a Gigabyte Geforce RTX 4080 Super.

OK, let’s see how easy it really is, to build a system with a reverse-connection motherboard such as the MSI Z790 Project Zero. We’ll start by taking look at the features and specifications of the chassis in our page.

You can buy the Corsair iCUE LINK 3500X RGB Mid-Tower Chassis for around USD $149.99 from Amazon – https://amzn.to/3YsrzHj

The standard Corsair 3500X with no fans only cost USD $89.99 – https://amzn.to/3Af7Ss6
