In Win 703 Mid-Tower Chassis Review

Conclusion and Verdict

In conclusion, the 703 was not built for the enthusiastic builder. Unlike the 707, there is not a lot of different set-ups you are capable of doing with this tower. Able to house an ATX motherboard, four HDDs, three ODD, four fans, up to a 408mm graphics card, and up to a 170mm cooler gives the mid-tower some potential. Therefore, those who are on a budget or first time builders, the 703 would be the perfect chassis.

The optical drive and hard drive bays are tool-free which makes for an easy installation. Also allowing for an easy installations, are the pre-installed standoffs for the mother board. All of which fits and works perfectly! In Win’s 703 is a great chassis with great features and a good looking design. The build quality of the case is great and it does not feel cheap; and I like that.

All hardware usually comes with some kind of short comings. There were quite a bit less then expected with the price only being 65 USD. First, would be the size of the tower. The 703 is quite a bit smaller then their 707 and does not have enough room behind the motherboard for cable management. There is only optical drive accessible to the outside of the case. No quick connects on the I/O ports and no reset button. My biggest complaint would be not giving the 703 the capabilities to put in a water cooler or 2 120mm fans in the top.

If you are wanting to have a water cooler, you will need to place a 120mm water cooler in the floor of the chassis or replace the pre-installed 120mm fan in the back. Even so, I still believe that this tower would be great for those on a budget or first time builders! The 703 from In Win can be found on Newegg and various other e-tailers for around $65 USD.

Pros:

  • Acrylic Window
  • Build Quality
  • 2 pre-installed fans one of which is LED.
  • Sleek Design
  • Pre-installed standoffs

Cons:

  • Front Panel is plastic
  • No quick connects for I/O cables
  • No room behind motherboard
  • Snap-covers on expansion slots
  • No mounts for fans or water cooler in top of chassis

Final thoughts:

This chassis is made perfectly for those who are on a budget or first time builders. The 703 looks great with the all over charcoal black and red trim! Therefore, you will not be disappointed in trying to show off your gear. So if you are looking for a very budget chassis or looking to build your first computer, then I would definitely recommend In Win’s 703 to you! Especially for the price of only 65 USDs!
