Packaging and Contents
Raidmax sent the Viper GX II in a saran wrapped card board box. The box was wrapped so tight, that I had to be extra careful while cutting it away. On the front of the box is a viper slithering from behind and angled picture of the GX II. The viper is looking ready to strike the Raidmax logo and brand name residing in the bottom right corner. The back has quite a few different things going on. We have an above angled shot of the GX II with the tail end of the viper wrapping around the tower. Raidmax’s logo and brand name sits, yet again, in the bottom right corner. There is also pictures of the inside of the GX II. All of which basically shows the features of the tower.
The specifications for the GX II are on both sides of the box. Each side has almost the exact same layout. Only difference is the left side shows packaging handling requirements at the bottom, while on the right side is a barcode shown instead. The GX II brand is the only thing shown on top. First thing I noticed once I opened up the box, was the woven bag surrounding the GX II. Most towers I have came across had a clear plastic bag surrounding the tower. Needless to say, I was quite surprised and thought it was worth noting. The Viper GX II was also incased between Styrofoam. Overall the tower was quite loose inside. Don’t get me wrong, in no way was the GX II damaged. I rather like my towers to be more tightly packed.
At first, I believed that Raidmax forgot to send anything for the tower. Low and behold, the contents box was inside the GX II sitting in the hard drive bay area. The box contains six drive rails for the 3.5 HDD, eight drive rails for the 2.5 SSD, three sets of three Velcro ties, a mother board speaker, and a bag of screws. There is one brass motherboard mounting stud (the rest are already installed), four screws that secures the PSU, Four extra long screws for a second front mounted fan, and 15 screws to secure the motherboard and graphics card. Raidmax’s GX II instruction manual is also found in the contents box.
Now let us take a closer look at the GX II itself!
