Fairly standard stuff, though possibly a bit short on fans for high end hardware. Two of the 5.25″ bay covers are the sort with a button and a flip down door that you can place in front of your optical drive. I really like these as they mean you don’t have to worry about what color your DVD drive is and whether it will go with your case or not.
I will be using the following hardware to test this case:
Processor | Intel Core i7 2600K (LGA1155) |
Motherboard | Gigabyte Z68X-UD3-B3 |
Ram | G.Skill Ripjaws X 2133MHz 2x2gb kit |
Graphics Card | Sapphire Radeon HD 5830 |
Hard Drive |
Western Digital Blue 500GB SATA |
Optical Drive | LG x24 DVD-RW Re-writer SATA |
CPU Cooler | Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme (TRUE) |
Power Supply | Silverstone Strider 1000w |
Chassis | Rasurbo Xange Mid Tower |
Network | Intel PCI Gigabit NIC |
Monitor | 22″ HP w2207h (1680×1050) |
OS | Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit |
Not quite the top of high end, but not far away either, it’s a pretty hefty heat load for the case to get rid of. The GPU doesn’t help matters in that it isn’t a rear exhaust type, the hot air from the GPU mostly stays in the case. This makes the case’s ability to move air through itself even more important than usual.
