Rasurbo Xange Gaming Case Review

The Verdict

All told, I like this Rasurbo Xange case, it has lots of good features, and some genuinely innovative ones as well.

I really like the trim panels and the adjustable backlighting for the fan controllers, it takes case customization down from it’s high shelf of air brushes and soldering irons and delivers it in a nice easy to use package.

The fan controllers themselves work great, I like them.

The tool free drive bays work well, and I like the orange knobs against the black of the case.
Speaking of the case color, Rasurbo did a very thorough job painting this case, everything got painted, it’s quite refreshing!

The lack of tool-free PCIe/PCI slot openings is a downer, but they do give you some thumbscrews to use, which helps.  Thumbscrews actually beat some of the “tool free” methods I’ve used in the past, making this a middle of the road sort of issue rather than a detriment.

The lack of a side panel fan is an issue, and it shows with a continuous heavy heat load.  Even just a vent of drilled holes in the side would help significantly.  You can always use a high power intake fan, but those are typically noisy and unpleasant and won’t work with the built in fan controllers.

The motherboard tray cutout is fantastic, it’s the best one I’ve run across so far.

The loop-around-the-back USB3 cable is a toss up between extra clutter and 100% compatibility, but having USB3 on the front panel is definitely nice.

All told Rasurbo did a good job with this case but could have done better, I have three primary issues with it:

  1. The fan controllers could be stronger, this wouldn’t be much of an issue, except for..
  2. The case needs another intake fan, or at least a vent in the lower forward corner of the side panel.
  3. The rivet that intrudes into the space of the rear fan offends me.

Between those three issues, the slight annoyance of having to use screws or thumbscrews to install the GPU, and considering all of the very nice features mentioned above, I give this Rasurbo Xange case an 8/10 score.  It’s a good case, and if Rasurbo comes out with a Revision Two that has a shorter rivet near the rear fan and a second intake fan and/or side vents it will be a fantastic case!
