Conclusion and Verdict
The Thermaltake Ceres 500 TG ARGB Snow Edition is a nice looking mid tower chassis for sure. Its unique design feature a metal frame at the front, along with perforated top and front panels allowing excellent cooling performance.
The 4 pre-installed CT140 ARGB cooling fans are an added bonus. You get one at the rear, and 3 more fans at the front of the chassis. Each fan is 140mm in size with a fan speed of 1500rpm, and a noise level of 30.5 dBA.
The front I/O panel inclues 1 x USB 3.2 Gen2 (Type-C), 2 x USB 3.0, Mic-in, Line-out, power-on button and a reset switch. It’s pretty standard so nothing special here.
During our system build, we installed an Asus ROG Strix Z790-E Gaming WiFi mothrboard, which is a standard size ATX motherboard. It fitted nicely inside the Ceres 500 chassis with no issues whatsoever. We also mounted the Thermaltake ToughLiquid Ultra 360 AIO cooler on the top side of the case. Again, it fitted with no problems. So as far as installtion goes … it’s perfect.
Since the chassis came with a vertical GPU mount included (pre-installed), it was enticing us to install our full length EVGA GeForce RTX 3090 graphics card. So we did. We just had to 😀 Lol!
Oddly, Thermaltake did not include a PCIE riser cable, so we had to use our own. I think they really need to include it since they’ve already pre-installed vertical GPU mount inside the chassis.
Thermaltake offers an optional 3.9” LCD Display (purchased seaprately) for the Ceres 500, allowing you to monitor real-time information and upload any images or GIFs.This will give your PC stunning visual effects, as well as displaying system health and performance stats.
One more thing to be aware of … the 3-pin ARGB cable on the rear CT140 ARGB cooling fan, is a little too short for connecting up to the motherboard. You might need an extension cable.
And more one piece of advice … we recommend you remove completely the 3mm hinged tempered glass during installtion. The last thing you want is to have your tempered glass cracked or scratched during your system build.
