Thermaltake The Tower 300 Chassis Review

Exterior

The entire chassis measures 551 x 342 x 281 mm, which is fairly big for a “micro” tower chassis. But I do like the large interior space inside the chassis, which allows you to mount large radiators or GPUs. I also like the top, bottom, and side panels which have perforated holes allowing excellent airflow. What’s more, all these panels have removeable dust guards which is nice added bonus.

All the panels for the chassis can be easily removed, such as top, side, rear, and the 3 tempered glass panels in the front. What’s great about these panels, is that they are totally tool-less, which means they can be removed or re-attached easily without any screws.

Interior

After removing all the panels, you can see the Tower 300 has plenty of space for you to work with. You can fit up to a massive 420mm radiator at the right side of the chassis, and can accommodate up to total of eight 120mm or 140mm fans.

The Tower 300 can fit up to a 4-slot graphics card with a maximum length of 400mm. We tried a Geforce RTX 4080 Super, which is a huge graphics card and that fitted with no issues at all.

With a bit of configuration, you can actually install up to 3 x 3.5″ HDDs or 3 x SSDs if needed.

The Tower 300 is only suitable for Mini-ITX or Micro-ATX motherboards, so if you want to install a standard ATX motherboard in to it, then you’re out of luck. This chassis isn’t for you unfortunately.

Closer Look

After removing the rear back panel, you’ll find there’s pretty of options for cable management with plastic clips on either side, which allows you to tidy up your cables with ease.

By removing the top panel, you’ll find 2 pre-installed CT140 black cooling fans, which are located on the top of the chassis. Each fan is 140mm in size with a fan speed of 1500rpm, and a noise level of 30.5 dBA.

The front I/O ports include 1 x USB 3.2 Gen2 (Type-C), 2 x USB 3.0, Mic-in, Line-out, power-on button and a reset switch.

Thermaltake have also included removeable dust guards on the side, rear, top and bottom panels, with the rear panel having a magnetic dust guard.

During the PC build, we recommend you remove the 3 x 3mm tempered glass side panels completely. The last thing you want is to have your tempered glass cracked or scratched during installation.
