Thermaltake The Tower 300 Chassis Review

Conclusion and Verdict

All-in-all, I’m extremely pleased with how our PC build turned out. Initially, I had my doubts with the peculiar octagonal shape and its weird 3 x 3mm front tempered glass panels. But surprisingly in the end, our whole PC build actually looked pretty fantastic!

I was worried about whether it has enough room inside the chassis, but as you can see from our photos, there’s plenty. I can easily gain access to my graphics card, ram modules and the even AIO radiator. What’s more, there’s nothing blocking the view of the LCD display on CPU waterblock, plus there wss enough room inside for us to add our Gundam SD figurine.

During our system build, we installed an ASRock Phantom Gaming B760I Lightning WiFi motherboard, which is a mini-ITX form factor. It fitted nicely inside the Tower 300 chassis with no issues whatsoever. We also mounted the Thermaltake TH360 V2 Ultra AIO cooler on the right side of the case. Again, there were no issues with installation.

I really like all the removeable panels which are screw-less, and can be easily be detached and re-attached with any hassle. I often remove both the front and side panels of my PC to gain access to all the vital components inside the PC build.

The top panel of the Tower 300 features the usual I/O ports which includes 1 x USB 3.2 Gen2 (Type-C), 2 x USB 3.0, Mic-in, Line-out, power-on button and a reset switch, which is pretty standard. However, one annoying thing with the top panel is that you have to remove it, everything you want to gain access the video outputs or the I/O panel of the motheroard. If Thermaltake made a quick release panel on the top (like they did the Tower 500), then that would be solve this issue.

Additionally, Thermaltake offers an optional 3.9” LCD Display (purchased seaprately) for the Tower 300. We of course had to install it on to our PC build. It just makes the whole system look a lot better. This LCD display allows you to monitor real-time information and upload any images or GIFs. This will give your PC stunning visual effects, as well as displaying system health and performance stats.

The only issue with the Tower 300 is that it’s only suitable for mini-ITX or micro-ATX motherboards, so if you want to install a standard ATX motherboard, you’re going to have to look elsewhere. Other than that, it’s a pretty decent chassis to build a gaming PC, plus you have a choice of eight colours to choose from … Bubble Pink, Bumblebee Yellow, Hydrangea Blue, Matcha Green, Racing Green, Snow and Turquoise.

You can buy the Thermaltake The Tower 300 Chassis for around USD $149.99 from Amazon – https://amzn.to/49Q9rco

Final Thoughts

The Thermaltake Tower 300 is a very unique looking chassis that has great aesthetics and features. If you plan to build a gaming PC based around a mini-ITX or micro-ATX motherboard, and you want massive AIO cooling, as well the ability to install a full-length graphics card with room to spare … you won’t find anything else that can come close to the Tower 300!
