Thermaltake View 380 TG ARGB Mid Tower Chassis Review

Exterior

The dimensions for the Thermaltake View 380 TG ARGB measures 410 (H) x 285 (W) x 442 (D) mm and can easily fit any graphics card with no problem measuring up to 415mm. It is quite a wide case which means it will take up more desk space but in my opinion it is worth it to see the inside of the pc!

Thermaltake’s design on this case is very minimalistic and simple. It is a black case all round with glass panels and a thermaltake logo on the bottom right of the front panel. This case is aimed towards people who want a simple, spacious case with an inside view of the entire pc.

The glass panels involve more steps to off compared to other cases however it is not difficult and this means the panels are secured better. Firstly, you need to unscrew the thumbscrews to remove the top panel, unscrew the side and front panels and from there just pop them out towards you with some force. One thing to take not of if you do not put the screws back into the panels is that when removing the glass panels you need to be careful as you can accidently pop out the front panel when removing the side panel causing the front panel to fall. To avoid this problem, make sure you remove the front panel first as the side panel is more secure.

As you can see from the images, the power supply is installed in a different place to most cases which we will take a look at later on.

Interior

The interior of this case includes 4 pre-installed RGB fans, however you are able to install up to 10 fans into this case for extra cooling. In terms of radiators, this case is able to accomadate radiator sizes up to 360mm on the top and bottom, 120mm on the rear and up to 280mm on the side. As said previously, GPU’s with a max lenght of 415mm can fit in this case, which is more than enough for most graphics cards.

Power supplies with a maximum length of 200mm can fit in this case and CPU cooler’s with a max height of 160mm are compatible with this case. For motherboards, this case supports Mini ITX, Micro ATX and ATX motherboards and also there is space for up to two SSD’s and one HDD.

The inside of this case is also minimal but includes everything needed to build an optimal computer. Also, the fans along with the mesh back plate ensures the pc will get a good amount of cooling.

Closer Look

The fans pre-installed are black and have RGB that can be customized by motherboard software from ASUS, GIGABYTE, MSI, and ASRock. Thermaltake have released new magnetic fans that can daisy chain together. I would have liked to see these fans come with this case as it would help with cable managment and ease of installation.

The GPU bracket on this case is unique as it has a flap that goes outwards in order to access the GPU brackets. In my opinion this is unnecessary however it is not a big deal and does not effect the installation much.

A nice feature themaltake have added is the magnetic mesh dust cover on the bottom of the pc to make sure dust is reduced while cooling is still available.
