Conclusion and Verdict
Ok, so we made it to the conclusion. As you saw on the earlier page the cooler performs just fine. I know the comparable list isn’t the largest (just went to different processor) but you can find other reviews that use an i5 10600k and your results should be pretty comparable. The debate of coating a cooler effecting a coolers performance is going to continue forever. Because it can really hinder the performance if the coating is applied incorrectly or is a coating that doesn’t conduct the heat very well. Thankfully that isn’t the case with the MasterAir MA612 Stealth ARGB. This same cooler with a copper base and no coating may have performed slightly better but those results would probably be so small it isn’t worth giving up the stealthy black look of this cooler. The coating is pretty scratch resistant. I did a scratch test and could see scratches but never got to bare metal. The coating is extremely durable.
So as far as construction goes. Some of thing I really liked. First off, if you look at the arrangement of the heatpipes you can see they are staggered. This is important because you don’t want other pipes blocking the air flow to other heat pipes. The all seem to catch fresh air. The fans mount using a plastic bracket and fit very snug against the cooling fins. Not a lot of air is wasted while flows through the fins. The worst is seeing fans over hang or even have a gap and you loose some of that air the need to be going through the cooler. The fin array is something you would typically see. Nothing different or new, just the right spread and consistent quality. One thing to note if you didn’t catch it earlier are the fans. One fan is reversed. This makes it unique so pay attention if you replace or move the fan so you still get a push-pull configuration. The fans are the sickleflow fans with ARGB and these fans are capable of 62 CFM. That is plenty of push. Lastly, I like the stealthy look Cooler Master was going for. The top cover hides the protruding heatpipes and the all black coating looked great.
As I get more coolers to test my chart will grow so be sure to follow are cooler reviews to see more as we go!
