Corsair RS120 MAX Cooling Fans (3- Pack) Review

Conclusion and Verdict

The build quality of these Corsair RS120 Max fans are exceptonal. They’re constructed from glass fiber-reinforced liquid crystal polymer, giving it better rigidity and prevents the fan blades from bending. This ensures optimal radiator flow no matter the fan speed.

At 30mm thick, the Corsair RS120 Max is 20% thicker than the standard PC cooling fans. Does it matter? Well, in my opinion … yes. Thicker fans means it can produce stronger airflow and more static pressure, and this translates directly into better cooling performance for your PC.

With a maximum speed of only 2,000 rpm, it offers a decent airflow of 72 CFM, with a noise level of only 29.5 dBA. What’s more, with Corsair’s Airguide featuring Anti-vortex stator vanes, it allow focused airflow into a tight cone, and thus producing a healthhy static pressure of 0.12 – 4.2 mm-H20.

What I like about the Corsair RS120 Max cooling fans, is the fact that you don’t need a dedicated fan controller to power and manage the fans. You can simply plug them straight on to the motherboard. This is a BIG plus for me.

Installaton was quick and easy. You can use Corsair’s “QuikTurn” screws to mount these fans on your chassis, or mount them on any 240mm or 360mm radiator using the included mounting screws.

As I’ve mentioned before, I’m extremely pleased with the cooling performance of these fans. During our tests, we mounted 3 x Corsair RS120 Max fans on to a 360mm AIO cooler, to see how well it will help cool the Intel core i9-14900K, which is known to run really hot.

At 100% full CPU load, the fans reached a maximum speed of only 1991 rpm, while keeping the CPU temperature well under 90 degees Celsius. This is no easy feat, as most 360mm AIO coolers that I’ve used (with standard 120mm cooling fans) only manage to cool the CPU to around 97-100 degrees Celsius.

If you’re a RGB lover, then turn away … these Corsair RS120 Max fans don’t come with any RGB!  But who knows, maybe one day Corsair will produce the RS120 Max in RGB.

You can buy the Corsair RS120 MAX Cooling Fans (3 fan pack) for around USD $95 from Amazon – https://amzn.to/3Rt3HPf

Final Thoughts

Not everyone likes RGB cooling fans. Sometimes, plain Jane works best … and this is case, the Corsair RS120 Max is all you need. They’re constructed from glass fiber-reinforced liquid crystal polymer for superb rigidity, plus they’re 30mm thick and comes with Corsair’s Airguide Technology. All of this, allows the RS120 Max to produce an impressive cooling performance for your chassis or your radiator.
