Conclusion and Verdict
Now you may remember I put together a small list of what I want from a CPU cooler. The CPU cooler has to have decent cooling capabilities but doesn’t necessarily have to be the best. Has to be a Water setup. The pump must be quite and efficient and lastly has to have a ton of RGB. Well as you must have concluded for yourself by now, yes this cooler meets everyone of those preferred features. The cooling didn’t top the list but has good enough cooling where you will have no concern thermal throttling your CPU. Just to note there is a decent amount of headroom if you wanting to play around with overclocking. It is you your typical AIO setup, so that’s a check.
Now for the pump. The pump is similar, if not identical, to the one Cougar uses on the Aqua 240. This pump is indeed quite and causes no excessive vibration. It has just enough where if you were to place you hand on the hoses, you would know its working. And lastly, something I was excited for right off the bat. RGB. The best thing they did compared to the Aqua 240 is, now the fans are lit up not just the pump. The RGB on the pump itself is nice. You have a nice outlying all the way around the housing and the Cougar is brightly lit up as well. This RGB is capable of producing colors in zones so the color can be seen in a wave like motion. The fans are also capable of this as well. Just incase you weren’t aware anytime you see ARGB means the lights are capable of this function. RGB is usually a solid color but cant set them in motion. It was hard to capture in the photos but yes, these can cycle in the rainbow lighting pattern.
This cooler is plenty capable of cooling your rig. We cant argue with the results as this cooler was able to keep our chip nice and cool. The Cougar Cougar Aqua ARGB 240 All-In-One Liquid Cooler can be found on Amazon for around $99.50 USD.
