M9i is one more high quality cooler from CRYORIG. Even while unpacking you can feel how well it was designed. Everything has it’s place and was prepared to use easily and without any issues. Installation is simple and doesn’t take much time. Additionally if we have any problems, we can watch a short presentation on the CRYORIG website which is showing everything step by step.
What is the most important for most users is performance. However not all setups have enough space to use large coolers. Not to mention that not all users need large coolers or simply don’t want to pay premium for something that they won’t really use. CRYORIG M9i is a cooler which performs great for its small size. Even overclocked Intel i5 processors runs cool on M9i. What is also important, during normal work it’s really quiet.
The only issue which I noticed was the backplate. Actually it’s the same backplate which was used in CRYORIG C7. It wouldn’t fit without little modifications on MSI Z170I Gaming Pro AC but I had no issues to install it on ASUS Maximus motherboard. There is high chance that mentioned issue is related only to that MSI motherboard as it’s small ITX model. CRYORIG is already working on mounting mechanism without backplate and I think we will see it soon.
