Deepcool Captain 240 EX AIO Water Cooler Review

Package and Closer Look

Our review package contains Captain 240 EX in a retail box. As you can see, even though it was well packed, it got couple of kicks on the way but water cooling kit is in perfect condition as you can see on other photos.

On the package we can see general description, specification and manufacturer’s data. There are also key features and product phots. Package looks nice but what’s more important is inside.

Inside we can find well protected radiator with pre-installed pump/block, two 120mm fans and mounting kit. Simply everything you may need to install your new water cooling kit. Maybe I shouldn’t say water cooling as inside is a mix of H2O and SiO2.

Tubes are also worth to comment as except great looks they’re are stronger, anticorrosive and resistant to crushing or temperature differences. Great news since you can’t really replace them but you can be sure that will work without issues for a long time.

As I mentioned earlier, fans have special design which is clearly helping to keep low noise and high performance. Double blade fans are designed to put additional pressure what is of course what we want on a radiator.

Pump looks small but is quite strong. It looks like something used in Laing pumps what is well known, solid design. Again this part of the kit runs quiet, even though it’s performing well.

On the photos it’s hard to notice that but there is a light in the “reactor” looking water block. It’s also pulsing what is naturally hard to see on the photos.

Everything is really easy to install. Everything takes couple of minutes and is well described in the user’s manual.

On the photos above you can see that Captain 240 EX fits perfectly on MSI Z170I Gaming Pro AC motherboard which doesn’t have much free space.

On the next page we will take a look at the performance of the Captain 240 EX.

Did you use the included PWM splitter? I installed this kit but was weary off of using two fans off of one header over prolonged use, so i have the fans on two different PWM headers being controlled by a custom fan curve with Speedfan. Which header did you put the fans on and which header did you put the pump on?

I was using fan hub as I didn’t have enough fan headers on the motherboard. Everything was connected to the black headers but I don’t remember the order. Speed was the same on all of them.
