Conclusion and Verdict
In, conclusion the Deepcool CASTLE 240R is a solid performing AIO. Technology will always continue to advance and new ideas will take hold and could change the future in way we may not understand today. Ok, we may not have that unseen ground breaking technology in front of us but we have something from Deepcool that should be part of every AIO. Anti-leak. Now I have never owned an AIO that has leaked but the assurance from that technology make me feel a little better about having water that close to my other hardware. I have no way to test this but hopefully the video and link about helps you like it did me. Could you imagine a radiator blowing out? Seen it happen on a car, so I guess its not out of the realm of possibilities if you sustained high temps over a longer period of time. So you are one of those people that sustain you CPU at high temps, then you want this technology on your AIO.
As far as performance goes, this cooler is great. Deepcool definitely knows their cooling and I would hope so because its literally in their name. As we saw earlier in the chart this is right up there with the best 240mm AIO’s I have tested.
Some of the pictures don’t do the colors justice. The colors matched every other RGB device I had on my system. The color isn’t harsh or blinding. It’s very smooth, crisp color. And when I used the RGB sync on my ASUS board, the colors matched. One last thing as far as looks go is the adjustable face of the pump. No need to worry about how to route things before hand. You can goes the easiest route and let the hoses go where they want with least resistance. Because you can rotate the logo no matter how you mount the unit. Which is great because I have had some logos end up upside down just because I didn’t want too put extra stress on the hoses.
One last thing I should mention that can be important but sometimes overlooked is the Pump itself. No, I’m not gonna tear it apart and inspect the internals but I always to the listen and feel test. You can touch hoses and feel vibration if its there. And vibration can be bad thing if there is too much. You can also come across very noisy pumps. So the Deepcool Castle had little to no vibrations. I really struggled finding any vibrations along the hoses or the pump. With that the pump was very quiet. It was so silent and had no vibration I kept worrying I disabled the AIO_pump connector on my motherboard lol…This is a very quite pump.
Water does have limits to the amount of heat that is transferable and I want to thank Deepcool for developing something we can count on cooling our rig. We cant argue with the results as this cooler was able to keep our chip nice and cool.
The Deepcool CASTLE 240R All-In-One Liquid Cooler can be found on Newegg for around $79.99 USD. You can also buy the Deepcool CASTLE 240R AIO CPU cooler for around USD $95 from Amazon – https://amzn.to/35qYgZo
You can also find it on Newegg at its MSRP of $79.99
Pros:
- Excellent Cooling capabilities
- RGB
- Sleeved tubing
- Price
- Anti-Leak Technology
- Very Quite and Smooth Pump
Cons:
- Install can be tricky if it’s your first go around with installing coolers. I would like to have seen spacers or even spring loaded screws when mounting the Pump. (This is not the case for AMD AM4 and Intel LGA2066/2011)
Final Thoughts:
The Deepcool CASTLE 240R is a great cooler that has decent price tag. The coolers performance is undeniable and the quite operation is something everyone is looking for in an AIO. On top of that we get Deepcools Anti-leak technology!
