Deepcool Neptwin Dual-Tower Heatsink Review

Testing and Results

And now to probably everybody else’s favorite part. The actual numbers:

P7218143

The test system is again:

  • Intel Core i7 4770k (Haswell)
  • Gigabyte Z87X-UD4H Motherboard (Review Pending)
  • 8gb Patriot Viper Extreme 1600mhz
  • Corsair 600W CX600 PSU

As usual, the 4770K will be run at a mild overclock and a higher overclock:

  • 4.1ghz with 1.15v Core
  • 4.5GHz with 1.3v Core.

Results

Again we’ll be using the standard metric of idle and load temperature(s) minus the ambient temperature.

4.1Ghz Testing

 neptwinstock graph

Pretty average start, but as usual, stock settings are just that.  Let’s see how it fairs with a little more heat behind it.

Overclocked

 neptwinoc graph

Well, unfortunately, the Deepcool is only slightly better than the Venti at overclocked settings.  But, it’s not that disappointing considering the Haswell generally runs a bit hotter, so I guess the it does a respectable job of keeping up with new stuff.

Noise Level

The good news is, even with two fans, noise is only slightly above a noticeable level during a full load. So no complaints here … pretty impressive to be honest.
