Conclusion and Verdict
The CARRY NB-EC01 notebook cooler managed to exceed my initial expectations. The durability of the plastic construction is surprising despite the light-weight design. The cooling performance for the price adds to the overall value of the product. The CARRY cooler is also compatible with the majority of notebooks, whether they are slim or of a more standard thickness. This cooler managed run alongside the larger Thermaltake Massive SP and NZXT CRYO LX coolers, which have additional, much larger fans. The CARRY is also pretty inexpensive, compared to the larger coolers which is another benefit.
Unlike the majority of notebook coolers, the CARRY NB-EC01 takes up a USB port without compensating the consumer with a pass-through USB port. On notebooks, those USB ports tend to be valuable. There are also only two fan speeds with either Low (medium noise) or High (really loud noise). I believe a manual adjustment would be much more beneficial to the consumer to find that performance/noise sweet spot. The only other downside is that the CARRY NB-EC01 does not have any height adjustment options which can definitely be an issue if your laptop has a larger, higher capacity battery that elevates the laptop.
According to EVERCOOL, the CARRY NB-EC01 Portable Notebook Cooler has an MSRP $17.50 USD
