A Closer Look
The HPL-815 certainly lives up to its namesake size wise. Coming in at a height of just 45mm, this cooler is extremely low profile indeed. Even those slim Mini-ITX chassis should not conflict with the height of this cooler. This cooler is also really light in weight. The majority of the HPL-815 is constructed of aluminum with four copper heat pipes that will make direct contact with your processors heat spreader. The 80x80x15mm fan is secured to the heat sink with two retaining clips that were surprisingly very secure. The base of the cooler is also covered by a clear adhesive applique for protection during shipment. Be sure to remove that before installation of course!
The cooling fan is easy enough to remove and replace, if you find it necessary to do so. The fan itself is EVERCOOL’s very own and carries the model number EC8015TH12EP. This fan is an EL Long Life Bearing fan and is rated for 12v DC with rated speeds of ~1000 to ~4000 RPM and noise levels of ~12 to ~40dBA. The HPL-815 connects to your motherboard via a four-pin connector.
Now that we have taken a closer look at the EVERCOOL HPL-815 cooler, we will move on to the installation, finished looks, and performance testing portion of this review!
