Conclusion and Verdict
When it comes to AIO coolers, I have to admit the Gigabyte AORUS WATERFORCE X II 360 ICE really tickled my fancy. I love the all-white design, which perfect for any user wanting to build a white-themed PC. I also love the large 60mm x 60mm colur LCD display which is fully customizable, as well as the included ARGB fans with magnetic connectors. Should I continue? …
Well, let’s talk about cooling performance. During our tests, we used an Intel Core i9-14900K processor which has a default TDP of 125W and is known to run extremely hot. Idle temperatures was around 35 degrees Celsius.
But at 100% full load with Turbo Boost on (power usage sky-rocketed to 345W), the load temperatures reached a high of between 97-100 degrees Celsius. It’s not perfect, but the AIO cooler seems to be handling it OK, thanks to its larger pump and contact service area and the 3 powerful cooling fans, which is included with the package.
Now let’s talk about features. First is the LCD display. The CPU waterblock comes with LCD Edge View. It’s a fully customizable LCD display for monitoring clock frequencies, utilization, temperatures, fan and pump speeds.
There are 5 modes of animation and 40MB of integrated storage, which means you can personalize it with your own text/GIF/JPEG or MP4 files. The display can rotated 360 degrees via software.
Next, you’ll be glad to know that the overall cooling performance has been improved thanks to a 8% larger pump that offers a massive 44% increase in flow rate, while the contact surface area is increased by 3%.
Cooling fans play a big part in any AIO’s cooling performance. Gigabyte have included 3 ARGB cooling fans featuring their EZ-Chain Mag design, that allows for a fast and easy installation via a daisy chain setup. No more wires means less clutter. What’s more, the cooling fan come with a new fan blade design helps to increase airflow to 72 CFM with a maximum noise level of only 37.5 dBA.
Since there are no 4-pin PWM fan or 3-pin ARGB cables on any of the magnetic cooling fans, just make sure connect them firmly together. Once all 3 fans are fully connected, you’ll need to attach the magnetic header cable at the end of the “daisy-chain” to one end of the radiator (see photo no.6)
All-in-all, I’m really pleased with the Gigabyte AORUS WATERFORCE X II 360 ICE AIO cooler. Installation was easy, cooling performance is good and the all-white aesthetics looks great. And what’s more, the whole setup can be synchronized with other AORUS devices using the GIGABYTE Control Center.
