Specifications and Features
Above you can see detailed specification of Noctua NH-L9i cooler and included fan. It’a a compact design which should perfectly fit any computer and replace standard Intel cooler.
Tested version is designed for Intel processors installed in 115x sockets and will be tested on 1151 socket so Intel Skylake platform which is the latest and right now the most popular.
Noctua NH-L9i cooler has great looking package. As you see on the photo below, everything has it’s place and you have a feeling it’s really high quality product.
Except cooler itself, in the box you can find everything else you may need to install NH-L9i.
Additionally there is large tube of high performance TIM and set of screws if you wish to install different kind of fan.
The NH-L9i looks simple but really good. I could only comment fan color as “brownish” doesn’t fit to most motherboards and I actually saw similar comments from other users. Noctua sticks to this color like not many other brands.
On our MSI Z170I Gaming Pro AC motherboard NH-L9i looks pretty good. As you see it perfectly fits and is even lower than used G.Skill memory kit. Size of the cooler is about the same as reference Intel cooling so it has to fit onto every available motherboard which is using 115x series socket.
On the bottom, NH-L9i looks also good. Base doesn’t have mirror finish but is flat and polished to better spread the TIM. CPU cooler base supposed to be slightly bent to put higher pressure on the center. In this case it works pretty good.
