Noctua NH-U12S Cooler & NF-F12 Fan Review

Closer Look

No ridges on the fins this time.  Noctua has instead opted for FocusedFlow™, a new style that more than makes up for the smaller size and doesn’t compromise on sound.  More importantly, the F12 has a y-splitter, extension cable,  and a second low-noise adaptor in case you want both fans running dead silent.  The fan clips are very similar to the A15 and are included with the CPU package instead of the fan package.  Kind of weird but not much different than SLi or Crossfire bridges; at least somebody has them.  Anyway, because of the smaller width of the heatsink, the clips took a little more effort to attach than before; nevertheless, I was able to secure them without incident.

These are using the same voltage and clock settings as before, just with the extra fans:

Not too bad for stock settings.  Now let’s turn up the heat:

Hmm, perhaps not as good as I’d hoped.  But before we pass judgement, let’s check out the final parts.
