Closer Look / Product Photos
Scythe Mugen ARGB Plus arrived in a typical for Scythe products box. It’s let’s say medium size box, which perfectly protects all the contents and gives information about what we can find inside.
Inside the package, we will find the cooler, two Kaze Plex 120mm fans, a set of ARGB cables, ARGB controller, mounting kit, and all required screws, thermal grease, user’s manual, and a screwdriver.
There is everything we may need for installation, as you can see in the photos below.
The cooler itself is quite large but not as much as some competitive products. We can install it on most motherboards, even those mini ITX size. The cooler isn’t light, but a well-designed mounting kit causes that everything is well secured.
The back is made of nickel-plated copper and has six quite thick heat pipes going thought it. It’s about the best option we can find on the market nowadays.
The Mugen ARGB Plus has two fans, which are providing high air pressure, so they are suitable for thick radiators with tightly installed fins. The fans also provide ARGB lighting, the same as the top of the cooler.
Below you can see how the cooler looks in action. ARGB lighting works with all popular motherboard brands like ASRock, ASUS, Gigabyte, or MSI. Our tests were performed on the Z490 PG Velocita from ASRock. Everything was working perfectly fine on this motherboard, including all available lighting modes from static to rainbow mode. The cooler looks better in real than on the photos.
On the next page, we will take a closer look at the performance of the Mugen 5 ARGB Plus.
