Conclusion
I liked the Fuma 3 cooler a couple of months ago, but the Mugen 6 feels like a better cooler, especially the DBE version.
The Mugen 6 combines high performance and low noise. Everything is functional; there are no useless components for which we have to pay the premium. The package is just the right size and is well-described. Everything looks designed to deliver a solid product at a reasonable price.
Both Mugen 6 versions are similar in terms of performance. The main reason to consider the DBE version is its black color and an additional fan. The fan itself can be purchased separately, but it doesn’t help much, as we found out in our tests. It can still help, depending on the PC case and ambient temperatures.
The perfect size lets it fit most PC cases, even those smaller for mATX and ITX motherboards. We won’t have problems with tall RAM or motherboard heatsinks.
The Scythe Mugen 6 and Mugen 6 DBE CPU coolers are inexpensive. Maybe not the cheapest around, but we won’t find anything better below $55. Most comparable competitive coolers cost around $100, so there is a significant difference, especially when the quality is not very different.
Final words:
Once again, Scythe has delivered yet another quiet, well-performing, and inexpensive cooling solution for the most demanding desktop processors. I’m sure most gamers find it interesting, like older versions of Mugen family coolers. Either version of Mugen 6 will fully meet gamers’ needs, and it’s hard to beat at the given price.
Both Mugen 6 CPU coolers receive a well-deserved Editor’s Choice Award!
You can buy the Scythe Mugen 6 and Mugen 6 DBE CPU coolers for $46.99 and $54.99, respectively, in the Amazon store – https://amzn.to/4c4hHas
