Specifications
I think that specification table is clear enough and I don’t have to describe everything so I will focus on the most important or maybe the most interesting elements.
Let’s start from the package.
Scythe Ninja 4 has arrived in a retail package which is quite good looking box with a ninja warrior on the front. Sides of the box include specification and product description. You can find about every info you may need on the box. Additional info can be found in the installation manual. More advanced users probably won’t need manual as installation isn’t much different than that most other, larger CPU coolers.
Scythe Ninja 4 can be installed on most available Intel and AMD platforms. We will test it on the Intel Skylake 1151 socket.
In the box you will find everything required to install the cooler. Package contains screwdriver, thermal paste, fan clips ( two sets so you can install two fans ) and installation manual. Of course there is also CPU cooler.
Heatsink looks really good. Design contains six 6 mm thick heatpipes which are helping in spreading the heat on the large heatsink. Really large surface of the cooler makes it easy to keep low temperature of processor without need of fast spinning and noisy fans. Closer look at the test results will be on the next page of this review but I already can say that this solution is really effective.
Since I mentioned fan then Scythe added GlideStream 120mm fan which is really quiet even at higher speed. We wish to see here 140mm fan but the most important is effect. In this case performance and generated noise are both at respectable levels.
Base of the Scythe Ninja 4 is made of nickel plated copper. On the below photo you can see nearly mirror effect of the polished base of the heatsink. It looks great. Actually one of the best I’ve seen.
The only disadvantage which I see is the size of the cooler. If you really wish then you can install it with any available memory but fan won’t be in recommended position. The tallest memory which fits under the fan is something like HyperX Savage DDR4 which is not much taller than standard memory size. There are many various memory kits which can be installed with Ninja 4 so if you are building new PC then it won’t be any issue but if you already have RAM with really tall heatsinks then better check if there is enough space.
