Conclusion and Verdict
SilentiumPC Fortis 3 EVO ARGB is a good option for budget users who still wish to use Intel 10th gen or AMD Ryzen six or eight-core processors. The cooler is quiet during work and handles well everything up to 150W. The tested i9 processor is one of the exceptions, and the same as for top AMD series processors, we shouldn’t believe in the recommended coolers based on specified TDP.
One of the strongest sides of the cooler is ARGB lighting. The illumination works in various modes, and if we don’t have a motherboard with ARGB headers, we can use included nano-reset controller. Everything works and looks great.
The Fortis 3 cooler performs well, but I won’t hide that I was expecting more looking at the heatsink size. I could also count on a better base finish. On the other hand, I could complain if this cooler costs twice as much as some other in our comparison.
The Fortis 3 EVO ARGB cooler is a new product and isn’t available in the Amazon store yet. Considering that the SilentiumPC Fortis 3 RGB is available for around €43.00 in the Amazon.de, I assume that we should expect not a much higher price.
The cooler is covered by a two-year warranty that is already a standard.
Pros:
- ARGB illumination
- Above-average performance
- Inexpensive
- Quiet work
- Nano-reset ARGB controller included
Cons:
- Not the best base finish
- Performance could be better
Final words:
The Fortis 3 EVO ARGB is a cooler which should satisfy less demanding users, but still wish to enjoy ARGB lighting effects and quiet/silent operation. The cooler itself handles well with all the current six to eight-core processors, which is what most gamers currently use for their gaming and daily use.
