Installation
The mounting hardware is Thermaltake’s standard issue stuff for the most part:
The black plastic bit is a backplate, four bolts go through it and secure it to the motherboard via four black thumbscrews. Two plates go between the bolts on top of the thumbscrews and are secured by four stainless steer thumbscrews. Lastly the bar goes over the base of the cooler and bolts to those plates. It sounds more complicated than it actually is, though there are simpler setups out there. The extra complexity gives you some serious mounting pressure though, I’m very happy with the mounting setup. The double-ended thumbscrews you can see above are for LGA2011.
With the cooler mounted you’re greeted to a sight like the following:
The fan controller makes wire management rather awkward, but so it goes. The cooler itself and the fans look wonderful. I think it’s time to test this thing!
