Corsair iCUE LINK 3500X RGB Mid-Tower Case Review

Exterior

The whole chassis measures 506 (H) x 460 (L) x 240 (W) mm, which is is surprisingly narrow for a mid-tower chassis. This smaller footprint means it takes up less deskspace, which is always a good thing. All the panels can be easily removed, allowing quick access to your components.

There are no screws for any of the panels, and the front and side glass panels can be pop-out easily with a little pressure. While the top and and right side panels feature a fully mesh design which allows for excellent airflow, plus it comes with removeable magnetic dust covers.

The front I/O ports includes 1 x USB 3.2 Gen2 (Type-C), 2 x USB 3.2 (Type-A), 3.5mm audio jack, power-on button and a reset switch.

Interior

The maximum length for GPU installation is 410mm. We we able to mount a GeForce RTX 4080 Super graphics card (which takes up 3PCIE slot space) with no issues at all.

There’s enough room inside the chassis to mount up to 2 x 360mm radiator on the top or right side of the chassis. Plus you can install up to 10x 120mm or up to 5x 140mm fans for additional cooling.

You can fit a PSU with a maximum size of up to 180mm. Most PSUs are not that big, with average sizes of around 150mm, so you should be OK.

As I mentioned earlier, the 3500X is compatible with literally all the different types of motherboard out there. These include mini-ITX, micro-ATX, full-size ATX and even EATX motherboards, as well as ASUS BTF and MSI Project Zero reverse-connection motherboards.

The only thing I wished Corsair could have included is a vertical GPU mounting kit. Now that would be something. They have it for their 6500X and 2500X series of cases … but not for the 3500X. Maybe they will release one for the 3500X some day.

Closer Look

I do like the removeable dust guard at the bottom of the casd, as well as the all white I/O cables. For storage, Corsair have included a removable drive plate that can accommodates up to 2x HDDs and 2x SSDs simultaneously.

What I like about this case, is that Corsair have included 3 pre-installed iCUE LINK RX120 RGB fans with the control Hub. You only get this on the iCUE LINK 3500X RGB version of the case.

During the PC build, we recommend you remove the tempered glass side panel completely. The last thing you want is to have your tempered glass cracked or scratched during installation.
