Design
The Insta360 Nano is designed to be used with any iPhone from iPhone 6 and above. It has a built-in lightning connector which slots into the corresponding port on the bottom of your iPhone, and it is shaped to seamlessly ‘cradle’ the rear of the iPhone. That said, you will find that you might need to take any iPhone case off to accommodate the Insta360 Nano.
The outer casing of the Insta360 Nano is made from light aluminium, but it does feel quite flimsy. Add to this how lightweight the camera is (just 70g), it all adds to the effect of the Insta360 Nano being very delicate.
You can see that the fisheye lens stick out a little bit from the casing, so it is best to be careful when carrying the Insta360 Nano around.
Packaging
The Insta360 Nano comes in a white box much like the design you will get if you purchased an Apple product.
Removing the outer sleeve of the box, and you get a rather weighty box. Tip: Do NOT throw away the box!!
Flip the box over and you will see why you should keep the box. The company has designed the box so it double acts as a set of VR goggles! Record 360 videos on your iPhone, slip the iPhone into the box, and you got some VR footage!
Inside the box, you will find the Insta360 Nano itself, a micro-USB charging cable, a velvet pouch, and an instructions manual. I found the camera to be very tightly fitted into the foam and had to remove the whole block of foam from the box before slipping out the camera as I didn’t want to put unnecessary pressure on the fisheye lens.
