Today we’ll be taking a look at the Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 Gaming Laptop (Model: GA401QM-HZ257T) with AniMe Matrix lighting. Ever since Asus annouced their new 2021 models of the ROG Zephyrus G14 gaming laptop, I was super stoked! This amazing laptop went straight to the top of my shopping list and with good reason! The specs were mouth-watering to say the least, and it’s the first time I noticed that Asus paired a high-end AMD processor with a GeForce RTX graphics on a gaming laptop.
You’re probably asking why all the excitement? Well this year in 2021, I will be travelling alot … and as a content creator like myself, I needed a laptop that’s powerful enough to do all my video editing, LIVE streaming, the occasional 1080p gaming and content creation. The new 2021 Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 has got everything I wanted in a laptop. A powerful Ryzen 9 5900HS processor, GeForce RTX 3060 6GB GDDR6, 16GB DDR4 ram, 1TB M.2 SSD, 14″ Full HD 1080p IPS screen … all in a super campact and light-weight package. Weighing around 1.7Kg and measuring just 32.4cm x 22.2cm x 1.99cm.
One of the MOST attractive selling point of this laptop, is the AniMe Matrix Lighting Display on laptop lid. When I first saw this … I fell in love with it instantly. Please SHUT UP and TAKE my money now! hahaha.
Let’s quickly take a look at the specs … It’s powered by AMD Ryzen 9 5900HS processor running @ 3.1GHz (featuring 8 Cores/16 Threads and 16MB Cache), with a Turbo Boost of up to 4.50GHz. For graphics, it comes with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 6GB GDDR6, and features a 14″ Full HD (1920 x 1080) IPS-Level, PANTONE Validated, Anti-Glare (100% sRGB) Display with a refresh rate of 144Hz.
It’s also populated with 16GB of fast DDR4-3200 memory onboard (upgradeable to 32GB max.) and 1TB M.2 NVMe PCIe 3.0 SSD storage, which is more than enough for most enthusiast users and content creators.
And as far as connectivity and I/O is concerned, it comes with Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) and Bluetooth 5.1; 1x USB 3.2 Type C (Gen 2) w/ Power Delivery, Display Port and G-Sync, 1x USB 3.2 Type C (Gen 2), 2x USB 3.2 Type A (Gen 1), 1x 3.5mm Combo Audio Jack, 1x HDMI 2.0b.
