Verdict and Conclusion
The Dell Latitude E7280 is a compact, light-weight ultrabook that measures only 17.05mm (H) x 304.8mm (W) x 207.9mm (D), and weighing in at only 1.18Kg. It has tons of options for connectivity, which is vital for any business user.
The main difference between the Latitude E7280 and its predecessor, the E7270 is obviously the size. It’s now 6% thinner and has a 5% smaller footprint. The only thing I found a little disappointing is the fact that the E7280 uses the same CPU as the E7270 – the Core i5-6300U @ 2.4GHz. I has hoping it would sport the newer 7th Gen. Intel Kaby Lake processor.
Build quality was surprisingly good. Although the whole chassis and cover is made from hi-grade plastic, the laptop does feel solid in the hands.
Remember, this is a business class laptop, so don’t expect it will play the latest games. It’s not meant to … however having said that, I did try to do some simple video editing on the E7280, and it performed OK chucking around a 6-8GB video file.
The Dell Latitude E7280 can be purchased directly from Dell’s website, with prices ranging from USD $1,029 to $1,299. It’s not available on Amazon just yet.
Pros:
- Compact and Light-weight
- Masses of connectivity
- USB-C (multi-pupose – Displayport, Thunderbolt and power charging)
- No docking connectors on the bottom of laptop
Cons:
- Older 6th Gen Intel Core processor
Final Words:
If you’re after a business class laptop that is compact and light-weight with tons of connectivity, then you should really consider the Dell Latitude E7280. It’s literally the same as the Core i5 version of the award winning Dell XPS 13.
