The Laptop Itself
The MSI GE75 Raider 9SG measures 397 x 268.5 x 27.5mm in dimension, and weighs a total of 2.66 kg (5.86 lbs). Would you class this size as a desktop replacement? Why not both? LOL!
Cooling/exhaust vents can be found under the laptop as well as on the back and left side of the laptop. The webcam is located on the top side of the monitor bezel. There’s also a nice but discrete “Raider” logo at the back.
A Closer Look
The large 17.3-inch IPS panel offers a high refresh rate of 144hz and it’s housed in a thin bezel, and looks absolutely gorgeous. For graphics, it’s powered by a GeForce RTX 2080 (non Max-Q), and it’s one ofthe most powerful graphics card we’ve tested to date … on a laptop!
To cool the Core i7 9750H and the GeForce RTX 2080 … the GE75 Raider 9SG comes with its dedicated thermal solutions that features a total of 8 heat pipes to ensure maximum performance under extreme gaming.
For connectivity, you get 1 x mic-in and 1 x headphone out, as well as 1 x Killer gigabit LAN port, 1 x SD Card slot, 1 x HDMI, 1 x Mini Displayport, 2 x USB 3.2 gen 2 (Type-A and Type-C) and 2 x USB 3.2 gen 1 ports. There’s also a 720p @30 fps webcam which can be found on the top side of the bezel.
There a 3 buttons on the top right just above the keyboard. These buttons are Active Fan, RGB lightning modes for the keyboard and Power/Sleep button.
