Closer Look
Both flash drives are in retail package as you see below. In both cases we can see almost the same descriptions with little changes because of different flash drive design and capacity. Declared speed is however the same.
On the back of the package there is nothing unusual. Typical product descriptions, info about manufacturer, support and additional safety certificates. What is important for us is that Lexar JumpDrives are covered by three year warranty. It’s pretty good for a flash drive as most competitive products have one or two years warranty.
Now couple of photos of the flash drives. First will be S45.
As we see on the below photos, JumpDrive S45 is really small. After installing it in USB port we can see only blue element ( or other color what depends from capacity ). It’s perfect size if we are collecting data on the flash drive and from time to time move them to other place. We don’t have to remove the drive after we end work with our laptop as it’s so small that flash drive or USB port can’t be damaged.
JumpDrive S45 has a cap which from my experience is barely ever used. It doesn’t change fact that you can use it at least to not to lose the flash drive as you can attach it to the key ring.
Second flash drive is JumpDrive S25 which is a bit larger. S25 has capless design and you can simply hide USB connector to protect it from damage. It’s actually good to hide it as connector itself is plastic what isn’t the best option for users who have problems to install devices in USB ports. Maybe I’m wrong and its durability is good but it somehow feel fragile.
JumpDrive S25 in general is really light. You can barely feel the weight while holding it. It has its good and bad sides. What is more important is that so small and light flash drive has 128GB capacity what we couldn’t even dream of couple of years ago. Great option is you are carrying a lot of data or make additional backups really often which you like to have with you.
On the back of JumpDrive S25 there is product data and Lexar logo. All is quite stylish.
At the end of this page one photo of how JumpDrive S45 is glowing during work. S25 has red activity LED but it’s really hard to show it on photo.
On the next page of this review will will check how both Lexar flash drives are performing.
