Package and its Contents
Predator Apollo memory arrived in a retail package which is a bit larger than the typical flat box of most other brands. The package is well described with all the features and main specifications. There is also info about supported RGB technologies and various safety certificates.
Inside of each box, we will find two 8GB memory modules rated at DDR4-3600 CL14-15-15 1.45V. This is about the best specifications that we can find on the market at DDR4-3600.
Memory modules are well protected by a plastic blister and additional foam in the box. The modules are quite tall. I can even say that one of the tallest memory modules you can buy, so keep in mind that they may interfere with large CPU coolers, especially on small motherboards. Most manufacturers already release asymmetric CPU coolers, leaving some space for tall RAM, but there are so many versions that better check it before the purchase.
Memory modules look exceptional without LED illumination, while when we run any RGB mode, it’s just wow! Everything looks amazing. My favorite is probably the default mode which is really hard to catch on photos. The downside is that after a while, motherboards can’t synchronize it on more memory modules. If we wish to have fully synchronized LEDs, we can pick one of the multiple modes available in the motherboard’s software. As you can see in the photos below, it works well, regardless of the mode.
The RGB works without issues on tested ASUS and MSI motherboards. It also synchronizes well with Enermax coolers (even colors and brightness are the same).
On the next page of this review, we will take a closer look at the performance.
