The tested memory kit can be found under the AX4U36008G17HDC50R product number. It’s important if you want to buy the correct memory kit, as in stores is also Spectrix D50 DDR4 which isn’t ROG Certified.

Thaiphoon Burner sees the used IC as Hynix DJR. It gives us hopes on a high overclocking potential but not necessarily tight timings at low frequencies. Considering the XMP profile, it’s also a better option for Intel platforms, but of course, if we disable Gear Down mode on AMD-based motherboards, then the RAM will run at CL17 using the XMP profile.

The tested memory kit has no problems with stability on ASUS and MSI motherboards with AMD X570, B550, and Intel Z590 chipsets. We used the Strix B550-XE Gaming motherboard for performance tests, which is not the top but still a pretty good option for RAM overclocking for the AMD Ryzen platform.

Below is a screenshot from the AIDA64 System Stability Test. As you can see, there are no problems with the XMP profile, which is rated at DDR4-3600 CL17-21-21 1.35V. As I already mentioned, on AMD motherboards, you have to disable Gear Down mode. On Intel, it should run at CL17 without any adjustments.

In the recommended motherboards list are only the Intel series which confirms that the ROG Certified memory was designed for Intel chipsets.

Now let’s take a look at the product and its package.
