Conclusion and Verdict
Firstly, let me get this off my chest … running memory modules using Intel’s XMP profiles with AMD motherboards can be very tricky. This is what I experienced on many occasions. Using our test rig, which features the ASRock X570 Phantom Gaming X motherboard, I was only able to run these modules on XMP 2.0 profile at a speed of DDR4-2667 (default BIOS settings). However having said that, it doesn’t mean these modules can’t run at the specified speed of DDR4-3600. I guessing if I used an Intel motherboard, it would fair better.
Even at DDR4-2667 speeds (default BIOS settings), these modules worked perfectly, producing some pretty good scores during our benchmarks. Also with some BIOS tweaking, I was able to manually adjust the clock speeds up to DDR4-3000 with no issues. So if you’re using an AMD motherboard, I highly recommend you check out the QVL (Qualified Vendor List) of the motherboard, to see if these ADATA XPG Spectrix D60G DDR4-3600 memory modules are on that list.
Apart from memory speeds, the thing which makes these memory stand out is the the RGB lighting effects, and its multi-faceted surface with unique avant-garde styling. It also features a tungsten grey heatspreader that comes with a sleek X-light and Diamond-cut design. With over 60% of its surface area dedicated to RGB lighting, it’s one of the most visually stunning memory modules you can get on the market. What’s more, these modules are fully programmable and supports all of the major RGB ecosystems, including Asus AURA sync, Gigabyte Fusion, MSI Mystic Light, and ASRock Polychrome RGB.
During our tests, these memory modules produced some pretty decent scores in all of our benchmarks. Check out the results in our previous page.
